Suharto's Biography

His mother was named Sukirah and his father was a village head assistant in the field of irrigating rice fields as well as a farmer named Kertosudiro.

Suharto's childhood

When he was eight years old, Suharto started school but he often moved schools. At first he went to the Puluhan Village School (SD), Godean and then moved to SD Pedes because his family moved to Kemusuk, Kidul.
After that, his father Kertosudiro transferred Suharto to Wuryantoro. He was then entrusted and stayed with Prawirohardjo, a Tantri mant who married Suharto's younger sister.
In 1941, precisely at the Bintara School, Gombong in Central Java, Soeharto was elected as a Warrior, since he was young he had aspired to become a soldier or military. then on October 5, 1945 after Indonesia's independence, Suharto then officially became a member of the TNI.

After Suharto took power from Sukarno, and officially became president in 1968. He was re-elected by the MPR in 1973, 1978, 1983, 1988, 1993, and 1998. He is the longest Indonesian in his position as president. Suharto was replaced by B.J. Habibie.

Suharto died at 1:10 p.m. Sunday, January 27, 2008. He died at the age of 87 years after being treated for 24 days, from January 4 to 27, 2008 at Pertamina Central Hospital (RSPP), Jakarta. News of Soeharto's death was first informed by the Kebayoran Baru police chief, Kompol. Dicky Sonandi, in Jakarta.
