Biography of the Inventor of a Watch
Watches, Wall Clocks, Pouches, and other
types of clocks, in today's world who doesn't have one of these types of clocks
?? Almost everyone has a watch, almost every house has a wall clock.
Behind all the hours that have developed a
lot, who is the person who found it, who is the first person who created the
clock? He is Peter Henlein, a man of German
descent who at the beginning of his career was a locksmith in Germany.
Peter Henlein was born around 1485 in
Nuremberg, Germany and died in August of 1542. He was a craftsman who made
Taschenuhr aka Jam portable or the first decorative clock in Germany. This
Taschenuhr became a trend in those days and was used as a pendant or jewelry
that was generally used by nobles.
Peter H is famous for his tenacity and
perseverance in working on things to truly become a recognized and quality
masterpiece.
Peter Henlein (Also spelled Henle or Hele)
has been named the world's first watchmaker, although many others have the same
perceptions or ideas as Henlein, but it was he who proved to be the inventor of
the first hour.
Peter Henlein worked at a place where
craftsmen were unique, and Peter worked there as a locksmith. In addition to
working on or making keys, Peter tried various interesting things such as
making metal crafts with small sizes or micro sizes. When the dream was there
Peter tried to create a clock.
On September 7, 1504, he was involved in a
fight among fellow locksmith, George Glaser, killed. He sought asylum in a
local Franciscan monastery, and he lived there for four years, until 1508.
And finally in 1509 Peter left the
monastery and became a teacher in the city's locksmith guild. Peter became a
figure known as the maker of brass-powered small portable ornamental clocks,
the watch is very rare and expensive and is a fashionable store used among the
nobility of the time.
The clock that is used as one of these
jewelry will always be attached to the garment aka can be said as a pendant.
The size is still relatively large when compared with the current hour, the
size of the clock is 3 inches, but this size is the largest measure when
compared to the clock that appeared in the following centuries until now.
The clock of Henlein's creation are considered
as the clock of Small-Driven Small, this Clock is a special gift for important
people, aka people who are the inspiration in the City.
Peter himself was named the first clock craftsman who succeeded in making Clockworks into "Bisamkopfe", a
small container made of gold and functioning as a container for perfumes, aka
perfumes and disinfectants.
Peter Henlein also contributed to the
construction of a clock tower for Lichtenau Castle in 1541, and was known as a
maker of scientific instruments.
Peter Henlein is a well-known and talented
watchmaker, but there are other clockmakers who make small hours at that time
even though the source of the news is unclear.
Perhaps the idea of this clock had
existed in the early 1400s, almost a century before his work. The person who
often tells about him comes from his colleagues from Johann Neudorfer in 1547
shortly after his death:
"Henlein was very close to the first
of those who invented how to put small clocks into little boxes"
